Static Hazards:
In gravure printing, accidental fire problems can cause serious harm to production. This type of ignition problem is caused by static discharges from the web surface (such as electrical sparks) to surrounding grounded parts, which ignite flammable solvents in the ink tanks. Usually this happens when material enters and leaves the corners of the print wrap (see marked areas on the way). Especially when the printing ink is gold, silver or black, which are more or less conductive inks, fires are more likely to occur. Electrical conductivity makes it easier for sparks to occur.
solution:
The typical installation of the ion rod with short acting distance is shown in Figure 1. Although it is better than nothing, due to its short acting distance and the rod is close to the material, it has the following shortcomings:
1. It cannot cover the entire area that needs to solve static electricity problems.
2. The stick will be contaminated very quickly.
3. The smaller coverage area results in a shorter residence time of the web in the ionic area, resulting in poorer electrostatic neutralization.
4. The static elimination rod may be easily damaged due to the rupture of the coil.
The air source ion rod can be installed in the area away from the coil (as shown in Figure 2), and the effective distance can reach 150mm. This will completely eliminate the static electricity in the static control area (the area shown in the picture), and also reduce the probability of the ion bar being contaminated and damaged, thus solving the above problems.
